Guilty much? Binay’s attempt to block release of COA report proves VP at fault — LP

politics_Huli ka balbon! Binay’s attempt to block release of COA report proves his guilt— LP

Vice President Jejomar Binay’s supposed attempt to stop the Commission on Audit (COA) from releasing its report on the allegedly overpriced Makati City parking building is a clear indication of his guilt as far as the Liberal Party is concerned.
LP spokesperson and Akbayan party-list Rep. Barry Gutierrez said Binay’s culpability in the controversial construction project is as clear as day when the Office of the Ombudsman accused him of calling up a COA official to delay the release of the special audit report until the May 9 elections is over.
The Office of the Ombudsman accused Binay of trying to delay the release of the special audit report on the Makati parking building after United Nationalist Alliance president Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco claimed that Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales pressured the COA into transmitting an “incomplete” report.
Gutierrez said Binay should have nothing to fear if he is confident he did nothing wrong.
Binay, along with his son dismissed Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. and 22 other city officials and individuals, were indicted by the Ombudsman for multiple counts of graft, malversation and falsification of public documents for irregularities in the P2.2-billion Makati carpark project.
Construction of the parking building began during the Vice President’s last term as city mayor and continued during his son’s tenure at the city hall.
