Top smut consumers: Filipinos just need some stimulation on the fly

Hey, here’s another item to chalk up for “Pinoy pride”! According to GMA News report, Filipinos are among the top viewers of Internet porn in the world. Filipinos, it seems, are renowned for their “stamina” when it comes to their duration of visits to the porn site P0rnHub_dot_com [Editor note: Spelling changed as a safety measure]. Another revealing stat is that 47 percent of visits to that site come from mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, leading the report to quip “Sometimes you just need some porn on the fly!”

Filipinos and their weird priorities nga naman talaga.

If you are a Filipino male with a face turning red after being caught out by these revealing stats, here’s some redemption. The report did note that there was a drop in Philippine-originated traffic to the site by 5.7 percent in the week following Typhoon Haiyan’s (a.k.a. Yolanda) devastation in November last year. Wow! A whopping 5.7 percent drop in Philippine porn traffic! Pinoy malehood should all congratulate themselves for this noble “abstinence” in the aftermath of such a tragedy!
This kinda warrants a bit of pause for Pinaydom, though. Why are our men turning to the Net to get their rocks off when there are enough of us red-blooded gals to set their eyeballs upon? Maybe it’s a case of too much pressure. After all, Senator Pia Cayetano wanted to implement legislation making “satisfying sex” for women mandatory. Yikes! That’ll turn the Philippines into Performance Anxiety Central and mean more business for these new generation Hugh Hefners of the Web! Considering that Pinoys are not known to be the most law-abiding of people, they will surely turn to this easy means of circumventing that law!
Could be too that it’s all free. An issue of FHM Philippines or Pinoy Playboycosts almost a day’s wages for the average Pinoy male. That certainly can’t compete with free Internet stuff.
I did find some scientific research that could prove that the issue really has less to do with the availability of Net porn but on the character of the people who desperately seek it…
It turns out that among porn viewers, the amount of porn each subject consumed had nothing to do with his or her mental state. What mattered most, Twohig found, was whether the subjects tried to control their sexual thoughts and desires. The more they tried to clamp down on their urge for sex or porn, the more likely they were to consider their own pornography use a problem. The findings suggest that suppressing the desire to view pornography, for example, for moral or religious reasons, might actually strengthen the urge for it and exacerbate sexual problems. It’s all about “personal views and personal values,” Twohig says. In other words, the effects of pornography—positive or negative—have little to do with the medium itself and everything to do with the person viewing it.
Well, one thing I do observe about Pinoy society is that sexual repression is a major undercurrent here. So, yeah, go figure.
Either way, I’ll bet the usual suspects will be pointing to the great Evil upon us that is the recently-enacted Reproductive Health (RH) Law as the root of all this debauchery we are seeing today. After all, these supposedly “pro-life” people are already using their twisted logic to launch into hysterics over an international RH conference being conducted in Manila that they say is promoting abortion. Good thing the Supreme Court did not give in to their calls to have the whole event suspended. Imagine the embarrassment! That kind of logic should not be broadcast for the whole world to see. It’s just so moronic!
So while these so-called pro-lifers wave their placards against perceived cases of abortion and loudly spout nonsense about the sinful ways of artificial conctraception, it turns out that the males of their flock are logging on to these “Hubs” of lewd videos to satisfy their long guilt-repressed libidos. Holy barking up the wrong tree! Tsk tsk. Activist FAIL na naman:D
