NAIA 3 most dangerous airport in the world

By Erwin Tulfo

DEAD SHOT

THE heavy beating received by my brother, Mon Tulfo, from Raymart Santiago, his wife, Claudine Baretto, and their five bodyguard thugs inside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 last Sunday afternoon, clearly shows that arriving passengers, including tourists, are not safe from assault, robbery, or even death from criminal minds.

Mon, who had then just arrived from Davao City, saw how Ms. Barretto berated two airline staff at the baggage claim area of NAIA 3 over her missing luggage.

As a journalist, my brother wanted to record the incident. After all, Ms. Baretto is a public figure and she is fair game for news coverage. This flared up her husband Raymart who tried to confiscate Mon’s cellphone. When Mon resisted, Santiago, Baretto, and their five alleged goon companions ganged up on my brother.

The whole incident was captured on video perhaps by another arriving passenger or airport employee and uploaded it on You Tube. (Thanks by the way to that person who took the video and painstakingly uploaded it on You Tube. Bless your heart whoever you are). Both Barretto and Santiago earlier claimed they were attacked and beaten up by my brother before the incident was posted on You Tube. I guess the video will not lie, Miss Baretto.

In the same video, the guards arrived together with the airport police at the scene almost three minutes after Mon was started to be manhandled by Santiago and Baretto and their goons.

However, instead of arresting the assailants or at least breaking up the brawl, the stupid and inutile guards and police were seen just watching and shouting, “Tama na yan.” My brother stood up by himself without anyone helping him while the culprits walked away scot-free.

The moron guards belonged to the Lantin Security Agency. And according to the grapevine they have no training in civil aviation security procedures.

Which makes me wonder, how the hell did they qualify to guard the airport when they do not know anything about aviation operations and security?

As of this writing, NAIA General Manager Angel Honrado has refused to take my call and explain why Lantin was chosen to guard NAIA terminal 3 when its personnel are not yet certified to guard a vital installation like NAIA.

If thugs like Santiago and Baretto and their cohorts can walk away free after beating up my brother – who is already an institution in Philippine media — then imagine how more dangerous it would be for ordinary passengers or tourist arriving at that airport?

I can’t help but wonder about the safety of ordinary passengers and tourists going through the arrival area of NAIA 3 Domestic terminal. How can the airport officials assure that they won’t be harmed, robbed or even be killed lets say by another passenger going berserk when both the guards and police there are so slow in arriving at the crime scene and do not know what to do?

No wonder the US Civil Aviation Authority or another foreign aviation body gave NAIA a failing mark in security a couple of years ago.

I almost fell from my chair when I heard Honrado on Monday defending over another radio station that his guards were not inutile.

Aw c’mon Honrado….either you are getting senile or you are just plain dumb and stupid by saying your guards did everything they could.

If I were you Lolo Angel… get yourself a new set of glasses and watch the video on You Tube before you start running your mouth like a parrot. You don’t know anything. “Sayang, heneral ka pa naman.”
