Filipinos are Rude

I was separated for two months from my parents when I was 9 when I spent my summer vacation in the United States. One thing’s for sure: Travelling sure made me realize about the dysfunctions of the Pinoy culture.

Everytime I go the the US it seems as if I never want to go back to the Philippines where everything is dirty, not to mention irritating. Even if I have spent my whole life in this country, I am still not used to encountering rude people whether at the mall or in the LRT/MRT.

It’s annoying that so many myths have come out about the culture this country has. Filipinos now believe every lie they have made about themselves. Sometimes I can’t help but wonder why it had come to this.

Each day of my life in the Philippines make me lose my faith in the Filipino people little by little. We have some good people but the bad ones outnumber them no matter what.

Filipinos Don’t Know How to Fall In Line and Yield to Right Way

One mrt ride from the north to taft station will be enough to debunk this delusion. You can see the rudeness of the Filipinos just by falling in line while seeing so many others cut lines. Everytime I see this, I try to control myself but of course there are instances when I can’t take it anymore and reprimand the person who cut lines. Notice that when you try getting off the train, people won’t wait for you to do so since they will make sure they get in first before you get out. Even when you say “excuse me”, they will pretend they did not hear you.

Filipinos Are Thoughtless

If you don’t live in a subdivision and your neighbors are too noisy singing using a videoke machine, don’t expect to be able to sleep at your desired time. Someone’s birthday is far more important than other people having to wake up early the next day for school or work. I tried reporting the unruly singing of our neighbors a few years ago back when I was still in college since I have classes early the next day but to no avail as to the police officers reasoned out by saying “Ma’m may birthday po kasi.” What the F? I tried to explain why someone’s birthday shouldn’t be a big deal compared to other people who have to rest for the next day but since stupidity is deeply rooted in the Filipino people, he wasn’t able to realize this.

Filipinos are Racist

My next observation would most likely fall under racism but yeah, I noticed that Filipinos like staring at foreigners and making rude remarks on black people. This kind of attitude doesn’t give you, Filipinos, the right to act as if you guys are “aping-api”. You people shouldn’t throw hooligans at the Chinese people everytime they say something against you guys. Filipinos are the most racist people I have encountered in my entire life.

Filipinos shouldn’t really think or feel that they are superior to other people. Obviously, they aren’t.

How timely and how correct are your observations. The quote at the beginning sums up the situation as far as the 'corrupt' government is concerned. You get what you are and Filipinos dont like it when I tell them that they are corrupt at all levels of society even down to the family level. This country is cursed because it is corrupt. It is a dirty smelly noisy place and no wonder I haven't see a single Westener since I have been herre.

I am spending 12 months in the Philippines and getting more and more fed up every day. Even as I write I am being denied sleep because the local basket ball court is hosting a singing context which started at 10 pm! The noise level is horrific beating the proverbial hareoke which you are forced to share whether you like it or not.

But Filipinos dont give a hoot about other people. They are born ignorant. They have never learned manners and in that sense they probably cannot be blamed.
