WHO IS RACIST?

Dear Sir Cesar,

I have read Sir Alex Mushakes response to the goings on about Europe and Manila and after reading it several times it does not say NON FILIPINO KNIGHTS are racist. Please if you are going to call out brother Knights I suggest that you have your facts 100% correct and not add words that suit you to any one else's letters

I would like to remind you that Racism and calling people racist now are recognised everywhere as a crime against humanity so I do not think that members of the KOR who swore to follow in the footsteps of our National Hero would want to be associated in that category.

I would also remind you that most Knights are married to Filipinas so how can you classify them as Racist when they dearly love their wives and support many worthwhile ventures in the Philippines.I would also point out that many have families who are both Filipino and of foreign descent who are a credit to them and I am sure that they love their children very much.

It is my opinion that you are trying to find ways to discriminate against honest members of the Order who have only put in writing their feelings and complaints. That does not justify being called Racist. If someone called me Racist I would take them the whole road through the courts and make sure that the full force of the law was administered to the culprit.

In America you still have violent racism by secret bands of people who do not like the fact that people are human beings regardless of their heritage.

In UK you also have Racism by various sects of people who object to immigrants in their country.

HOWEVER I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANY COUNTRY PERSECUTE FILIPINOS ANYWHERE AS ALL YOU HEAR IS HOW WONDERFUL AND FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL EVERY FILIPINO/A THEY HAVE MET IS. IN FACT MOST OF THE PRAISES COME THROUGH THE MEDICAL INSTITUTES AND THE NURSING ASSOCIATIONS WHERE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER MET FILIPINOS MEET THEM IN THE COURSE OF THEIR DUTIES ADMINISTERING HELP AND CARE FOR THOSE RELATIVES WHO ARE IN HOSPITALS.

Sir Cesar, in your capacity as an officer of the Knights of Rizal, I would therefore ask you to put a restraint on your public thoughts which are groundless and not worthy of a high ranking officer who is supposed to be a person that the young would look up to. If you preach Racism then you will be no better than the ones who in the past have tried to use this as a stepping stone for their careers and who end up with no allies, no friends and alienated from society.

Sir Cesar, there is no crime in writing complaints to the Board of directors or Supreme Council as it is up to them to decide what is justifiable and what should be junked.

I would therefore suggest that if you have a justifiable complaint then you also should write to the Supreme Commander and provide the evidence so that this will be dealt with by the SC and the Supreme Council and the results will be made public if true or false.

At this time of the year most people come together to celebrate either Easter or Passover and everyone should be seen as a brother and sister to all. We learn this in the Bible regardless of what faith, colour class or creed that we belong to. It is now time to put all hatred aside and work together to bring about peace and prosperity to all who need it. Not to fight amongst ourselves.

Like Sir Alex I also am a long time member and although I can think many things I always wait till I have thought everything over before making a final decision.

I hope that you will realise that if you add to people's letters the readers who read these will say "Why is he elaborating and expanding on these when the original letter does not say that"? Please think before you write accusations and make sure that you get your facts right.

Yours in Rizal

Sir Barry Bowman KGOR
